Transition Age Youth Residences App. Period Opens

Kern County Mental Health formally announces the opening of the application period for the Transition Age Youth (TAY) Permanent Supportive Housing Program at the Residences at West Columbus.
Expected to open by  mid-March 2013, the Residences is a 56-unit rental apartment complex managed by the Housing Authority of the County of Kern.
Of the 56 units, 20 rent-assisted, one-bedroom units are set aside for eligible transition age youth, 18 to 24 years old.
Applications for tenancy for the TAY units first involve certification of target population and MHSA eligibility by the Department's TAY Team.
KCMH will open applications for eligibility certification on Monday, December 17, 2012, and continue until further notice.
